Hello!
I'm back at it, raising money to support conservation in Colorado through a good old fashioned...birding competition? You heard right!
I'll try to repeat my success from 2022, when I won the green division of the Colorado Birding Challenge with John Andrson as my partner. This time I'll team with Chris Daniels, fresh off our back to back Power of Two victories! Notice a competitive streak? We will try to see or hear as many bird species as possible in Pitkin County on September 14, 2024 to raise money for habitat and river restoration of the Conejos River in the San Luis Valley. The Conejos River is a major tributary of the Rio Grande. This will be a much greater challenge this year than in 2022 when we competed in the spring, as birds are quiet and often sparse in the late summer in the high country. We have opted for the competitive "open" division and will compete against the best birders in Colorado.
